42U Server Racks are the most common rack height sold for data centers.  42U = 42 Rack Units on your Mounting Rails = 73.5" of rack mount space available.  Please note that actual internal and external height vary depending on rack manufacturer.  The 8U to 16U racks above are considerably smaller, but may be ideal for securing servers & network equipment in a office or confined space.  Also within the same height range, you may want to consider Wall Mount Racks and Portable Racks for your rackmount requirements.
